Kesari from the amateur cook


1cup rava
1 cup sugar
1 pinch of salt
1/4 cup Milk
1 3/4 cup water
Pinch of cardamom powder
Cashew nuts
1 tsp Orange rind

Heat up 2 tbsp ghee . Fry the raisins n cashew nuts . Keep aside .
Add the rava and cardamom powder to the remaining ghee and toast over low flame till fragrant. Set aside.
Boil water n milk n salt in a pan . When it comes to a boil , lower the flame n add the rava. Keep stirring to avoid lumps .
Stir in 2- 3 tbsp of ghee n colouring. Keep stirring for 3 - 5 mins until rava is well cooked.
Add sugar , orange rind, cashew and raisins. Add another spoon of ghee .Keep mixing . When sugar has melted , turn off the stove immediately.

1 . Use ghee as per ur taste
2. Milk is optional . Substitute it with water.
3. Turn off stove the moment sugar melts.
4. Fry the rava well
