Social Organisation
Tamil people used to live with large families together though now the global scenario has shifted towards having a nuclear family. There were multiple caste variations as well - mostly on the type of job one person did. The same was followed throughout generations. People did not shift their line of work.

It is notable to mention a saying, "யாதும் ஊரே, யாவரும் கேளிர்" which means every place is our village and every person is our family.

Customs & traditions
Tamil people wear sarees and veshtis. Silk is loved a lot. They greet each other saying Vanakkam while joining the palms together in front of the chest. We eat on banana leaves and vegetarianism is celebrated. Thai Pongal is one of the major Tamil festivals - this gives evidence that majority of the people were farmers back then. Mango, jackfruit and banana (mukkani) are the three types of commonly used/consumed fruits.

Language
Tamil is the only language spoken around the culture. The inception dates back millenniums that they say "கல் தோன்றி மண் தோன்றா காலத்திற்கு முன் தோன்றிய மூத்தத் தமிழ்" which translates to the language that appeared before stone was ground to sand ("appeared" indicating that it had no involvement of humans - it is divine).

Art & literature
This part is what defines Tamil as a classical language. Classics and some work of Tamil literature dates back into eras of which exact historical accounts does not exist. The The Five Great Epics of Tamil Literature called "Aimperumkāppiyaṅkaḷ"  are seevaka sinthamani, valaiyapathi, kundalakesi, silappathikaram and manimekalai.

Religion
Tamil culture and Hinduism are deeply related. A lot of traditions and customs are similar. Hinduism is an integral religion in Tamil culture. Hinduism and it's sub divides such as Saivam and Vainavam are also part of Tamil Culture. Christianity and Islam are also followed by Tamil speakers around the world.

Forms of government
The major clans that governed Tamil regions were the Cholas, Cheras, Pandyans and the Pallavas. Tamil people and the culture flourished during their times. The Cholas even conquered foreign land (Sri Lanka and Myanmar).

Economic systems
The Tamils divided the landscape into five types based on the benefits that can be reaped from them. They were known as mullai, marutham, neythal, palai and kurinchi. They were respectively forest land, crop land, sea and sea shore based region, desert land and mountainous land.

I've written a very short account of what everybody should know about Tamil Culture. One core factor to know would be that our culture has very long roots and was well seasoned.

PLEASE  DONT KILL OUR CULTURE........

HI Inzo and Ravanan

Five epics - Silapathikaram (anklet of Tamil goddess), manimegalai (Ornamental belt at hip), kundalakesi (ear rings ), valayapathi (bangles), seevaga sinthamani (gems)

These epics mentioned like ornaments worn by Metamorphic Tamil Goddess. There is five small size Tamil epics also there.

All these epics wrote at the end of sangam age. The Oldest one is Silapathikaram. This is like mahabharata for Tamils.

A very important epic in Tamil history which mentioned famous kings like Nedunchezhiyan (Pandyan), Seran senguttven (Chera) and Ellala ( chozhan). This is treasure trove about ancient Tamil lifestyle. The Oldest text on Bharatnatyam, Drama, history, Tamil integration, ethics, social analysis etc all in one epic.

The story thought is written by Ilangovadigal, a saint and also brother of Senguttven.

The characters (Kannagi and Kovalan) started at Puhar capital of Cholas, and then to Madurai capital of Pandyas, where Kovalan got killed for crime which he didn't , so Kannagi got angry and proved to the Pandyan King that her husband is innocent, Pandyan King died after he came to know he wrongly convicted kovalan and Kannagi burn down the Madurai using her sanctity power. Kannagi then traveled to Vanji, Chera's capital and later somewhere in Kerala she became a goddess.

Seran Senguttuven hearing this story from another Tamil Poet thought to build a temple for her. At the same time, the North Indian kings teased south Indians as they considered themselves as Aryans. He waged a war and succeed against North Indians. He brought stone from .Himalyas and cleaned in Ganges. He Built Kannagi statue with this stone.

One PS: It was said in Silapathikaram that both Kannagi and Kovalan lived in 7 story building.
